NEET PG 2024

NEET PG 2024 is an essential eligibility and ranking examination required for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma programs. This exam is also mandatory for foreign nationals seeking to pursue postgraduate medical courses in India.

The NEET PG 2024 exam was administered in a computer-based format, featuring 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for a total of 800 marks. The exam was conducted in English. This year, the examination was organized in an unexpected format, with candidates taking it in two separate shifts: one in the morning and the other in the evening. The total duration of the NEET PG 2024 exam was 3 hours and 30 minutes.

NEET PG 2024 Exam Analysis

In the NEET PG 2023 Exam, a total of 2,06,541 candidates took part. This was an increase from NEET PG 2022, where approximately 1.8 lakh students appeared. However, the 2024 NEET PG Exam saw a significant rise in participation, with 2,28,540 candidates across 416 centers in 170 cities.

The NEET PG 2024 exam faced considerable disruptions. Initially planned for an earlier date, it was postponed to 11th August due to issues with the examination centers, which eventually led to legal proceedings. This year’s exam was conducted in two shifts: one in the morning and another in the evening. The difficulty level of the exam increased compared to previous years, with the evening shift proving to be particularly challenging for many candidates.

In 2024, the NEET PG exam had a major change: it included a lot of image-based questions than before. Around 50-60% of the questions asked students to look at and understand images rather than answering straightforward questions. This change made the exam tougher compared to previous years.
