1.    MCC Counselling for All India Quota
•    Conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
•    Covers 50% of all Government Medical College seats across India (except in Jammu & Kashmir).
•    Also includes seats in Central Universities, ESIC institutes, and AFMS institutions.
•    Students can apply online, fill in their preferences for colleges/branches, and seats are allotted in multiple rounds based on merit.
 

2.    State counselling for 50% seats.
•    Each state conducts its own counselling process for state quota seats in government and private colleges.
•    50% of seats in state medical colleges are reserved for candidates belonging to that state.
•    State counselling is managed by respective state medical authorities.
•    Candidates must register separately on their state counselling portals.
 

3.    Deemed/Private/AIIMS/JIPMER counselling process.

•    Deemed Universities & Private Medical Colleges: MCC conducts a separate counselling round for these institutions. Candidates from any state can apply.
•    AIIMS & JIPMER: Now included under the NEET PG umbrella, these institutes also admit students through the MCC counselling process.
•    Fees in deemed/private institutions are usually higher, but they provide wider options for candidates who do not secure a seat in government colleges.
