The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) at SGT University, Gurugram, is one of the premier medical institutions in Haryana, established in 2010. Out of the total 150 MBBS seats, a fixed percentage is reserved for NRI/NRI-sponsored candidates in accordance with the guidelines of the National Medical Commission and the SGT University norms.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS in SGT University Gurgaon

To apply under the NRI quota for MBBS at SGT Medical College Gurgaon, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Academic Qualification:

1. Passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
2. Must have obtained at least 50% marks in PCB subjects for General/NRI category.

• Entrance Exam:

1. Must have qualified NEET-UG
2. NEET eligibility is mandatory for all categories including NRI.

• NRI Criteria:

1. Applicant should be an NRI, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), or Person of Indian Origin (PIO).
2. Sponsorship is allowed from a parent/relative holding NRI status.

• NEET-UG Qualification

Even for the NRI quota, it is mandatory to qualify for the NEET-UG  examination. Candidates must:

1. Appear for the NEET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
2. Secure at least the minimum qualifying percentile (as declared by NMC for NRI category).
3. Only NEET-qualified candidates are considered eligible for MBBS admission under the NRI quota.

• Application to SGT University

Candidates have two options to apply:

1. Directly through SGT University’s admission portal by filling out the application form under the NRI category.
2. Through centralized counseling conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Haryana, which handles NRI quota admissions in private universities within the state.

It is advisable to register on both platforms (university and state counseling) for better chances of securing a seat.

• Counseling & Preference Locking

Once registered, students must:

1. Participate in the counseling rounds (either university-specific or Haryana State counseling).
2. During the preference-filling step, select “SGT Medical College” and opt for the NRI quota specifically.
3. Lock your choices within the given timeline to ensure eligibility in seat allotment.

• Seat Allotment

Based on the following factors, seats are allocated:

1. NEET-UG score and merit rank
2. Availability of seats under the NRI quota
3. Priority order of filled choices
4. Submission of valid NRI documentation (passport copy, embassy certificate, sponsorship letter, etc.)

Once the seat is allotted, candidates receive an allotment letter for reporting.

• Document Verification

At this stage, candidates must:

1. Visit the college or assigned center with original documents, including educational certificates, NEET scorecard, identity proof, and NRI sponsor documents.
2. Present proof of NRI status which can include:

• Passport and Visa of the sponsor
• Embassy certificate
• Sponsorship affidavit
• Relationship proof with the candidate

Failure to provide accurate documents can lead to cancellation of admission.

• Fee Payment

1. After successful verification, candidates need to pay the tuition fee, admission charges, and hostel fee (if applicable).
2. For the NRI quota, the base annual tuition fee is approximately INR 18,00,000, excluding other charges.
3. Payments are typically made via bank transfer or demand draft, as specified by the institution.

• Final Admission Confirmation

1. Upon fee payment, the admission is officially confirmed.
2. Candidates receive an admission confirmation letter from the college.
3. They must report to the college on the specified date to complete orientation and begin classes.
