Goa NEET UG Counselling & Admission

ELIGIBILITY

Goa Domicile Candidates
•  Candidates must be Indian citizens. 
•  They must qualify NEET UG with the required percentile General: 50th percentile, SC/ST/OBC: 40th percentile, PwD: 45th percentile 
•  Student must have a minimum age should be 17 years by 31 December of the admission year. 
•  Candidates must pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. 
•  Minimum PCB marks required General: 50%, SC/ST: 40% and PwD: 45% 
•  Candidates must fulfill Goa domicile rules to apply for 85% State Quota seats. 
•  Eligible candidates can participate in all counselling rounds including Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy Round. 
•  State quota seats are available only at Goa Medical College (MBBS) and Goa Dental College (BDS) 
Important: Goa is a closed state for MBBS/BDS admissions. Only Goa domicile candidates can apply for the 85% State Quota seats.

Non-Domicile Candidates
•    Candidates from other states are not eligible for Goa State Quota seats. 
•    They can apply for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats through MCC counselling and NRI quota seats at Goa Medical College. 
•    NRI/OCI/PIO candidates do not need Goa domicile for NRI quota seats, though preference is usually given to candidates of Goa origin. 
•    Goa does not have private medical colleges, so there are no Management Quota or Payment Quota seats under Goa counselling.

APPLICATION

Goa MBBS Counselling Application Process
Step 1 – GOA MBBS Counselling begins with visiting the official DTE Goa website to do online registration. 
Step 2 - Create an account using a valid email ID and verify it through the activation link. Fill in personal, NEET UG, and educational details carefully.
Step 3 - Upload required documents, photograph, signature, and nativity proof in the prescribed format. Review all details and submit the application form.
Step 4 - Save and print the registration acknowledgement/application number. Pay the counselling registration fee online or through bank payment methods.
Step 5 - After the merit list is released, fill and lock your college choices before the deadline.

Important Conditions
•    A separate admission fee of ₹1,800 must be paid at the time of admission.
•    Category certificates from outside Goa are not valid for reservation benefits in Goa counselling.
•    Candidates eligible under multiple categories can choose seats from any eligible category.
•    Fresh registrations or spot admissions may be allowed in later rounds if seats remain vacant.

COUNSELLING

Goa NEET UG Counselling Process
Goa MBBS/BDS counselling is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa for 85% State Quota seats. The remaining 15% AIQ seats are filled separately through MCC counselling. Registration is done online, but document verification and admission rounds are conducted offline at DTE Porvorim, Goa. Candidates must attend counselling in person as per the schedule.

Seat Allotment Process
Seats are allotted based on NEET UG rank, category, college preferences and seat availability.
Candidates who receive a seat must report to the allotted college within the given deadline with original documents and fee payment. Failure to report can lead to cancellation of the seat.

Reservation Policy
Seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ESM (Ex-Servicemen), PwD and NRI candidates. All reservation certificates must be issued by Goa authorities. Certificates from other states are not accepted for reservation benefits.

NRI Quota
•    Goa Medical College has limited NRI quota seats.
•    NRI/OCI/PIO candidates can apply.
•    Preference is usually given to candidates of Goa origin.
•    Admission is based on NEET UG rank.

Bond & Fee Rules
Government MBBS Seats
Students admitted to government quota seats may need to sign a service bond to work in Goa government health services after MBBS.

NRI Quota Seats
NRI students must pay higher fees and submit an undertaking to pay the full course fee. Leaving the course early may lead to fee forfeiture or penalties.

Management Quota
Currently, Goa does not have private medical colleges offering management quota MBBS/BDS seats through DTE Goa counselling.

DOMICILE

Goa Domicile Eligibility for MBBS State Quota: To apply for the 85% Goa State Quota MBBS/BDS seats, candidates must fulfill Goa domicile rules.

Basic Domicile Requirements
A candidate is eligible if they have been living in Goa continuously for at least 10 years before admission, and if they passed Class 12 from a recognized school in Goa.

Reduced Residency Requirement
The residency requirement may reduce to 5 years if a candidate’s parent or grandparent was born in Goa, and the family has been residing in Goa for at least 5 years.

Government Employee Cases
Children of Goa Government employees posted outside Goa may also be eligible with proper service and posting proof.

NRI Quota & Domicile Relaxation
•    Goa domicile is not required for NRI quota seats.
•    NRI/OCI/PIO candidates can apply for NRI seats at Goa Medical College.
•    Preference is usually given to candidates with Goa origin or ancestral connection.

OCI / PIO Eligibility
•    OCI and PIO candidates are eligible only for NRI quota seats in Goa.
•    They are not eligible for the regular Goa State Quota seats reserved for Goa domicile candidates
